The extension saves only your chosen settings to your device using Chrome's local storage:

  • Selected color correction mode (protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia, or normal)
  • Filter type (simulate or correct)
  • Intensity setting (0.0 – 1.0)

These settings sync only within your Chrome profile and never leave your device.

4. Permissions

ColorBlindify requests only the following permissions:

  • Storage: To save and load your color filter preferences
  • Host access: To apply color corrections to pages you visit

These permissions are necessary for the extension to function. No additional data is collected.

5. How It Works

ColorBlindify operates entirely in your browser:

  1. You take a color vision test
  2. The extension analyzes your responses locally
  3. A severity score is calculated
  4. You select a filter mode and adjust intensity
  5. Filters apply to webpages in real-time

All computation happens on your device. No data is sent anywhere.

6. Third Parties

ColorBlindify does not integrate with third-party services or analytics platforms. Your data is never shared externally.

7. Security

Since ColorBlindify does not collect user data, there is nothing to compromise. Your settings are stored securely within Chrome's encrypted sync storage, protected by your Google account.
